Biography

Master Stanley

Master Stanley began his Martial Arts studies in 1989 under Grandmasters Clinton Jacobs and Lawrence Day in the art of Seiei Kan Shotokan Karate in Gulfport Mississippi.

During these early years, Mr. Stanley cross trained in various arts such as Aikido, Shorin Ryu, Kempo, Mudokwan, Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Shaolin Kung Bu, Boxing, and learned the Sport Karate style of fighting under Kickboxing and Karate World Champion, Grandmaster Robert Parham.

In the early 90s at the age of 18, Mr. Stanley was promoted to the rank of Shodan by Grandmaster Day, and began competing in Sport Karate tournaments in the Men's Black Belt lightweight division in Kumite and Kata gaining numerous first and second place wins.

Mr. Stanley served in the United States Marine Corps from 1993 to 2000. In 1995 while on unit deployment in Okinawa, he studied Okinawan Te. Mr. Stanley served as a Marine Security Guard from 1996 to 2000 at the US embassies in Nairobi, Kenya; Warsaw, Poland; and Tokyo, Japan.

While assigned to the US Embassy in Tokyo he studied Muay Thai, Judo, Jujitsu, and Seidokaikan Karate under various Japanese masters.

In 2001, Mr. Stanley began working as a Federal Contractor at new US Embassy sites in the Security and Surveillance field and it's currently a Site Security Coordinator in charge of the US Security Team. While on his many assignments abroad at our embassies, he studied Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Judo, Jujitsu, and MMA in North Africa, Asia, and Europe. Mr. Stanley also studied Jujitsu and MMA under Kickboxing and MMA legend and World Champion, “Big” John Dixon.

Throughout the years, Mr. Stanley has taught Karate and women's self-defense to US Embassy staff and security team members. Master Jerome Coleman is Mr. Stanley’s senior student and owns and operates Tigers Way Karate in Houston, Texas.
 
Master Stanley is a member of the Black Dragon Fighting Society and Black Lotus Martial Arts Association and a certified Martial Arts instructor and hold ranks of the following styles:

· Rokudan 6th Degree in Sekai Shotokan Karate
· Rokudan 6th in Sekai Shorin-Ryu Karate
· Godan 5th Degree under the Black Lotus Martial Arts Association
· Yondan 4th Degree in Catching Do.
